The Drama in The Backstage

Soldiers were running everywhere. Trees were springing from nowhere. Hoots and whistles sounding from somewhere. The dimly lit backstage was literally crowded with all sorts of children wearing costumes. One could hear the vague sounds of a Romeo's declaration of love for Juliet if one listened really attentively. Otherwise, it was just sounds of angry screams and nervous giggles.

The thin wall separating the stage and the backstage was like a magical line between two worlds. On one side there was elegance and order. On the other there was screams and disorder. The children in the next item were 'lined-up' but they were everywhere; a particularly bad flood, of color and sound, leaving destruction everywhere.

Some, whose nervousness had erased the words from their memory, were quickly practicing their scripts. And one could clearly see the audience enjoying the drama at the stage; too alien about the drama in the backstage.
